Atlantic Marine Energy Center (AMEC) operates as a university-led consortium between the University of New Hampshire, Stony Brook University, Lehigh University, and the Coastal Studies Institute of North Carolina to address the ongoing needs for research, development, and testing in support of wave, tidal, and ocean current energy.
AMEC partners with the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, Sandia National Laboratories, Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, and the European Marine Energy Center on specific tasks.
AMEC supports utility-scale Marine Energy development and a broad range of Powering the Blue Economy (PBE) applications, through analytical, numerical, and laboratory modeling and deployments at well-understood open water test sites.
