Washington, D.C. — The National Hydropower Association is proud to welcome Kathleen Robertson to the organization as its new Vice President of Regulatory Affairs. Robertson, who has decades of experience in the clean energy space, will lead and execute NHA’s regulatory and federal markets strategy.
“I’m thrilled to welcome Kathleen to the team,” said NHA’s President and CEO, Malcolm Woolf. “Our industry is at a critical juncture defined by rising electricity demand and an increasing focus on around-the-clock reliability and affordability, while we also face a wave of hydropower relicensing. Kathleen joins NHA at a pivotal time for water power, and I’m honored to call her a partner as we build on our momentum.”
Kathleen brings 20 years of experience influencing policy, federal affairs, and energy strategy across utilities and energy trade associations. Highlights of her career include shaping major first-time federal regulation of power plant air pollutants, securing state-level support for existing nuclear plants, and elevating the role of nuclear generation as a zero-carbon, 24/7 resource.
Her experience also includes supporting investor relations teams, representing clean power in Department of Energy consultations on grid security and resilience, ensuring nuclear and renewables were included in high-level national security discussions, and transforming trade association board engagement and governance to maximize advocacy impact.
Prior to NHA, Kathleen has served in a variety of policy roles at the intersection of clean energy, policy, and business, including Exelon/Constellation, American Clean Power (ACP), and M.J. Bradley & Associates. She is a proud alumna of the University of Virginia and Columbia University.
