The hydropower sector is growing, and so is the need for skilled people to power that growth—engineers, technicians, project managers, environmental specialists, and more. To help close that gap, Hydropower Foundation launched the Job Roundup, a weekly recurring initiative that curates and shares open positions from across the hydropower industry in one accessible place every Monday.

Since launching in January, the Job Roundup has amplified over 250 job openings, averaging around 1,200 impressions per post across the Foundation’s platforms. The roundups average 10 new opportunities per week, which includes jobs, internships, fellowships, and apprenticeships.

By making hydropower job opportunities more visible and accessible to the next generation of emerging talent, the Hydropower Foundation is helping build the workforce pipeline the industry needs while giving job seekers a trusted, centralized resource to discover their next opportunity in renewable energy.

HOW THE JOBS ARE FOUND AND SELECTED

The Hydropower Foundation (HF) team actively sources openings from hydropower developers, utilities, engineering firms, equipment manufacturers, and government agencies involved in the sector. The team monitors several industry job boards and company career pages while also accepting partner referrals, compiling the most relevant, current openings for recent graduates and early-career professionals into a single, easy-to-scan roundup.

The jobs included in the roundup should meet the following criteria:

• Must be posted in the last 7 days
• Must be in the U.S. or its territories
• Require between 0-5 years of experience

WHERE CAN YOU FIND THE JOB ROUNDUPS?

Once compiled, the weekly roundup goes out through three main channels:

Hydropower Foundation website, where an updated, browsable listing is maintained, enabling job seekers to check it anytime.

LinkedIn, where the team posts regular weekly roundups to reach a wider and more diverse audience of job seekers, students, and career-changers looking to enter the hydropower field.

Instagram, where a link to the Jobs page of the HF website is shared to an Instagram story on a weekly basis.
